Meet Dr. Scott

Mallory G. Scott, DMD, MSD

Mallory G. Scott, DMD, MSD

Dr. Scott is a native of Maryland but for the last fifteen years has called South Carolina home. After growing up in Baltimore, she followed her two older brothers to Clemson University and graduated summa cum laude with a Baccalaureate of science in psychology. After attending a Ph.D. program in psychology at Purdue University, Dr. Scott decided on a career change to dentistry.

She received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina where she also was a teaching assistant in oral immunobiology. Dr. Scott completed her orthodontics residency at Saint Louis University and earned a Master’s of Science in Dentistry and a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. During this time, she also was granted a teaching fellowship by Southern Illinois School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Scott is a member of several professional organizations including American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, South Carolina Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and South Carolina Dental Association. She is a board member on the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation and attends meetings frequently. In addition, she attends numerous meetings and conferences each year which keep her informed of the newest technology and techniques in order to improve your orthodontic experience.

Her free time is spent with her husband Jake and her dog Bogey. She loves running, cooking, (attempting) home improvement projects, and anything on the water! Dr. Scott participates in Smiles Change Lives which allows her to work with children from low-income families in need of orthodontic treatment. Smiles Change Lives and Dr. Scott work together with one main goal, which is to help families who cannot afford the full cost of braces. She also enjoys volunteer opportunities and has participated in various organizations such as the dental clinic at Boys and Girls Club of America in St. Louis, Give Kids a Smile, Dentistry for the Heart, and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

“I am so thrilled about opening a new practice in Beaufort and can’t wait to become involved in the community!”
